<div class="section1"><div class="Normal">BANGALORE: Training to build self esteem, use of medicinal plants to boost immunity and yoga exercises to strengthen mind and body were some of the aspects of the workshop on ''necessities of HIV infected people'', organised by the Karavali Positive Women and Children Network (KPWCN) here on Sunday. <br /><br />Emphasising the need to boost immunity among HIV positive, K Laxman Shetty, retired principal, Government PU College, Maninalkuru, many plants had immunity boosting properties and their daily use was immensely beneficial.

He said the most common grass ''garike hullu'' was known as ''green blood'' as it had almost the same Ph as that of blood and its was beneficial in developing resistance to infections. <br /><br />Likewise he said that white hibiscus, gooseberry, aloe vera, ''sada puspha'', ''shatavari'', black jamun, brahmi, ''timare'', drumsticks had beneficial effects in building resistance of the body in HIV positive people. He also educated the participants on how to use those medicinal plants in day to day use. <br /><br />On this occasion, Harsha D''Souza from NGO task Force taught the participants, mostly HIV positive people, some <span style="" font-style:="" italic="">pranayama</span> breathing exercises to calm the mind and the body to get rid of the stress. Earlier Vinny D''Souza delineated methods of building self esteem in a society which looked down upon positive people. <br /><br />The mayor K Divakar also participated in the sessions, along with Veenadhari, the organizer of the workshop and member of KPWCN. <br /><br /><formid=367815></formid=367815></div> </div>
